Called the Critics by Tuke, I wondered what these two Companions were critiquing when I reproduced this work to learn his style. Finally i realized that below the left rock, a swimmer's head bobbed in the water, a common theme of Tuke's. In my focused observations of his application of color and light, I missed the third swimmer and hence named it The Companions.
