The Bath could be from anywhere in the ancient world. Indeed the architecture is from a Roman cistern. I began this painting in 2000, and I considered it my last painting. So, it remained rolled up but never abandoned. Around the time this painting was started, I was venturing into a new career because I had injured my shoulder, and as technological enterprise was impacting the economic landscape, it seemed a necessity to step away from painting. After so many years, I have begun to rework one of my earliest that marked the apex of my skills after so many years of working as a scenic artist in theaters.
